EBL has launched instant digital customer onboarding solution EBL INSTA BANKING on January 14, 2021. This solution allows the customer to open a bank account from the safety of their home and flexibility of opening the account from anywhere in the world with only their National Identification (NID) Card, and a photograph taken through selfie. There is no need for any physical documents or a visit to the branch.
Launched under the Bangladesh Bank’s e-KYC guideline, EBL INSTA BANKING uses state-of-the-art facial recognition and comes with liveliness testing to ensure customers’ security and privacy.
The managing director and CEO of EBL Ali Reza Iftekhar said, ‘This digital customer onboarding solution is a timely initiative during Covid-19 Pandemic to ensure customer health safety and provide banking services maintaining social distancing. EBL Customers are already enjoying Fixed Deposit and DPS opening facility from home using EBL Self-Service Portal on EBL website. With the addition of Account opening facility from home through EBL INSTA BANKING, customers now have access to the complete digital Onboarding ecosystem.
EBL INSTA BANKING will be available through EBL Website, EBL DIA and EBL SKYBANKING App.
