EBL declares 35% dividend

Eastern Bank Limited (EBL) has announced 35% dividend for the year ended 31 December 2020 at the 29th Annual General Meeting held on May 30, 2021.

The shareholders unanimously approved the dividend at the AGM of the bank held through digital platform. 

The dividend declared 17.50% cash and 17.50% stock by EBL is the highest among the commercial banks of the country.  

The AGM presided over by Md. Showkat Ali Chowdhury, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company, was attended by the directors M. Ghaziul Haque, Mir Nasir Hossain, Salina Ali, Anis Ahmed, Mufakkharul Islam Khasru, Gazi Md. Shakhawat Hossain, K. J. S Banu, Zara Namreen, and Ashiq Imran.

Ali Reza Iftekhar, Managing Director & CEO and Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, Company Secretary, other senior officials of the bank and a large number of shareholders also joined the meeting through digital platform. The shareholders approved all the agenda that were placed at the 29th AGM of the Bank.

During the AGM, the shareholders appreciated the board and management for the financial performance of the bank despite the challenging time of the COVID-19 pandemic. They also expressed their satisfaction for declaring such a healthy dividend for the year 2020 which is the highest declaration among commercial banks of the country.
